    THE EFFECTS OF THE COLORS ON THE PERFORMANCES OF THE SOCCER PLAYERS AND SOCCER GOALKEEPER

    This study is meant to investigate the effects of the colors on the performances of the soccer players and soccer goalkeeper. The research was constructed based on qualitative pattern; and data was collected through document review method as a case study. In the 2018 World Soccer Championship, the players who took the first place in the goal kingdom generally played with the red, white and blue T-shirt and shorts color. At 2018 world Soccer Championship, the majority of the football goalkeepers played with the green color weighted form (22.32%). It was followed by goalkeepers wearing black colors (17.86%). In the third place, it was determined that there were goalkeepers wearing the yellow color (16.96%). It is determined that soccer players which used bright colors for t-shirt and shorts were more successful in World Cup 2018. As a result, it can have positive effects at success from color worn on the soccer players and goalkeeper. The soccer players and goalkeeper must be allowed to wear clothes in colors they like. The effect of the colors of the jerseys worn by footballers and goalkeepers on their success should be investigated in different championships. Coaches can benefit from different colors when to working soccer players and goalkeepers. It can be colorful targets selected. Soccer players with different colors clothes can to shoot at the goalkeepers.  Article visualizations

    Analysis of Academic Self-Efficacy Levels of University Students Doing Sport Regularly and those Not Doing Sport Regularly

    The purpose of this study is to analyze academic self-efficacy levels of university students studying in different departments according to their states of doing regular sports and some variables. 299 students, 153 females and 146 males, studying in different departments of Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs University participated in the study voluntarily. “Academic Self-efficacy Scale” which was developed by Owen and Froman (1988) and adapted to Turkish by Ekici (2012) and which included 33 questions and 3 sub-dimensions (social status, cognitive practices, technical skills) was used in the study to find out academic self-efficacy levels of students in terms of different variables. SPSS 22.0 program was used for statistical analysis. When the results were analyzed, statistically significant difference was found only in social status sub-dimension in terms of the variables of gender and grade (p<0.05). No significant difference was found in other sub-dimensions for both variables (p>0.05). When academic self-efficacy levels were analyzed in terms of students’ states of doing regular sports, statistical significance was not found in any of the sub-dimensions (p>0.05). As a conclusion, it was found that the state of doing sports regularly did not have an influence on academic self-efficacy level. This result is thought to occur due to the fact that the experimental group in the present study does not consist of only students from the faculty of sport sciences, but also from students studying in different departments of the university

    ANALYSIS OF THE EFFECTS OF DRINKING TEA AND COFFEE, SMOKING AND CONSUMING ALCOHOL ON SLEEP QUALITY OF STUDENTS RECEIVING SPORTS EDUCATION

    This study aims to research the effects of drinking tea and coffee, smoking and consuming alcohol before going to bed on the sleep quality of students receiving sports education. For this purpose, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index was applied to students receiving sports education. The data of 243 male students and 222 female students who filled in the scale were evaluated. Student t-test was used in statistical procedures. While statistically significant difference was found in subjective sleep quality, sleep duration, habitual sleep efficiency, daytime dysfunction, sleep latency/delay, use of sleep medication and total sleep score in terms of the state of drinking tea and coffee (p<0,05 and p<0,0.01), no difference was found in sleep disturbances component (p>0,05). Statistically, a significant difference was found in subjective sleep quality, sleep latency/delay, sleep duration, habitual sleep efficiency, sleep disturbances, daytime dysfunction, use of sleep medication and total sleep score in terms of the state of smoking and consuming alcohol (p<0,05 and p<0,001). Conclusion: It can be said that drinking tea and coffee, smoking and consuming alcohol before going to bed have negative effects on the sleep quality of students receiving sports education. It is recommended for students receiving sports education not to drink tea and coffee, smoke and consume alcohol before going to bed to improve the quality of sleep.  Article visualizations

    THE EFFECTS OF LIFE KINETIC EXERCISES ON TECHNICAL SKILLS AND MOTOR SKILLS PERFORMANCE IN YOUNG FOOTBALL PLAYERS

    The place of Life Kinetic exercises in technical skill and motor skill performance of football players is gaining great importance in science. For this reason, the present study aims to examine the effects of this training method, which is used all over the world, on the technical skills and motor skill performance of football players of this. The study was conducted on a total of 40 football players, 20 in the experimental group and 20 in the control group, who were actively training at Çarşambaspor club at least three days a week. While the control group continued their routine training, the experimental group was asked to train for 30 minutes with Life Kinetic exercises for 8 weeks, 3 days a week, in addition to their routine training. Mor and Christian Football Aptitude Test, Yeagley Football Test and Motor Skill tests were applied to the football players. In terms of total, a statistically significant difference was found between the first and the second measurement values of T agility, vertical jump, flexibility, 20-meter sprint, long jump, dribbling, pass accuracy, shooting, and kick-ups (p<0.005). In terms of total, a statistically significant difference was found between the first and last measurement values of dribbling, pass accuracy, shooting test, kick-ups, 20-meter sprint, vertical jump, and standing long jump test (p<0.005). A statistically significant difference was found between the first and last measurement values of the experimental group in dribbling, pass accuracy, shooting, kick-ups, 20-meter sprint, and standing long jump tests (p<0.005). As a result of the study, it was concluded that Life Kinetic exercises provide a positive development in technical skills and some motor skill performances of the footballers and that they have a significant effect, especially on dribbling, pass accuracy and shooting performance of the football players. In addition, even though statistically significant differences were not found in some measurements, it was found that the measurements of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group. For this reason, infrastructure athletes can train every day with Life Kinetic exercises for the development of basic skills such as more contact with the ball, dribbling, shooting and passing, while coaches can include Life Kinetic exercises in their training plans.  Article visualizations

    Analysis of Amateur Soccer Players’ Leadership Levels in Terms of Their Positions

    The purpose of this study is to examine the leadership characteristics of amateur soccer players in terms of positions and some variables. 300 amateur soccer players playing in different clubs in the districts and the city centre of the province of Samsun were included in the study. A personal information form was given to subjects to find out their positions and some variables and Leadership Scale for Sport which was developed by Chelladurai and Saleh (1980) and which included 40 items and five subscales (training and instruction, democratic behaviour, social support, positive feedback and autocratic behaviour) was used to find out leadership levels. SPSS 22.0 program was used in the statistical analysis of the study. When the results of the study were examined, statistically significant difference was found only in positive feedback subscale when the subjects’ leadership levels were compared according to age groups and education levels (p0.05). When leadership levels were compared in terms of the total period of time they played soccer, their positions, the number of clubs they played for and the state of being the captain, no statistical significance was found in all of the subscales (p>0.05). As a conclusion, it can be seen that leadership levels of soccer players did not differ according to positions, the state of being the captain, the total period of time they played soccer and the number of clubs they played for, while positive feedback was found to develop positively only as age and the state of education increased

    Self-compassion as a predictor of social physique anxiety in athletes

    The purpose of this study is to examine the explanatory effect of self-compassion on social physique anxiety in athletes. The study was conducted with the participation of a total of 462 athletes, 145 female and 317 male, who were studying at Yaşar Doğu Faculty of Sport Sciences.  Self-compassion Scale and Social Physique Anxiety Scale (SPAS) were used in the study. Independent sample t-test analysis showed that average scores of athletes for physical appearance comfort (PAC) t(250)=.158, p>0,5) and expectations of negative evaluation (ENE),   t(262)=.649, p>0,5 did not show a significant difference in terms of gender. According to the results of Pearson Product-Moment Correlation analysis, negative significant association was found between PAC subscale of social physique anxiety and self-kindness, common humanity and mindfulness dimensions of self-compassion while a positive significant association was found between self-judgment, isolation and over identification. Negative significant association was found between ENE subscale of social physique anxiety and self-kindness and mindfulness dimensions of self-compassion while a positive significant association was found between self-judgment, common humanity,  isolation and over identification.  Multiple regression analysis results presented the high level explanatory effect of self-compassion levels and the PAC of social physique anxiety , R=0.60, R²=0.36, p˂.01. Similarly, explanatory effect of ENE area of social physique anxiety, R=0.38, R²=0.15, p˂.01 was also presented

The factors which have caused the age of becoming a Great Master to fall rapidly in recent years have been researched.     STUDENT’S CARDIOVASCULAR HEALTH AWARENESS DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC PROCESS: THE CASE OF SİVAS, TURKEY

    Cardiovascular diseases, one of the important health problems of our day, seriously threaten human health. For this reason, it is very important to raise awareness about cardiovascular health from childhood and to develop behaviors accordingly. The aim of this study is to find out cardiovascular health awareness in students between the ages of 7 and 16 during the pandemic. 216 students continuing their education in the city centre of Sivas, Turkey participated in the study. A survey form on socio-demographic characteristics of the students and Children’s Cardiovascular Health Promotion Attitude Scale (CCHPAS) were used in the study. Demographic characteristics were collected online with a 9-question form. KMO value (0.741) was found to be moderate. Bartlett Sphericity test (p=0.00) was found to be significant. The fact that these two values are significant shows that the survey is suitable for factor analysis. 4 factors were determined as a result of factor analysis. These 4 factors explain 60% of the variance. No statistically significant difference was found in both total scale and 4 factors in terms of gender (p>0.05). While no statistically significant difference was found for the first factor in terms of the state of having social media account (p>0.05), significant difference was found for the other factors and total scale score (p0.05), difference was found in terms of Factor 3 and total scale scores (

    The Effects of Sport Education and Fine Arts Education on Social Appearance Anxiety

    The purpose of this study is to compare the social appearance anxiety levels of university students studying in different fields. Social appearance anxiety scales which were filled in by 481 students were assessed in the study. T-test and one way ANOVA were used for statistical analysis, while LSD tests were used to find out differences.Social appearance anxiety scale scores were found to be higher in male students when compared with female students. No statistically significant difference was found between social appearance anxiety scale scores in terms of genders (p>0.05). In terms of field of education, social appearance anxiety scale scores of students receiving sport education were found to be lower than the scores of students receiving art and music education and the highest social appearance anxiety scale scores were found in students in the department of educational sciences. Statistically significant difference was found between social appearance anxiety scale scores in terms of field of education (p<0.001).As a conclusion, it was found that sport education caused a higher decrease in social appearance anxiety when compared with fine arts education, while fine arts education caused a decrease in social appearance anxiety when compared with students who received neither sport nor fine arts education. In terms of social appearance contribution, it is thought that art and music education have similar effects to those of sport. Giving sport education to students who are not receiving sport education or making them do sport and giving those interested in sport a chance to be interested in art can be a factor in decreasing social appearance anxiety

    Analysis of respiratory function and muscle strength of elite judo athletes and sedentary females

    The purpose of this study is to analyse the respiratory function and muscle strengths of elite female judo athletes and sedentary females. 20 elite female judo athletes (EG) and 20 sedentary healthy females (CG) participated in our study. The subjects’ respiratory function tests were conducted in sitting position with spirometry, while the respiratory muscle strength tests were conducted by using intraoral barometry. SPSS 22.0 program was used for statistical analysis. When EG and CG were analysed in terms of respiratory functions, no statistically significant difference was found (p>0.05). However, when MIP* and MEP** values were analysed, it was found statistically that female judo athletes (EG) had much higher results when compared with sedentary females (CG) (*p<0.05, **p<0.01). As a conclusion, it can be seen that elite female judo athletes had stronger respiratory muscles when compared with sedentary females, while their lung capacities were found to be similar. Based on the results of our study, it is thought that by doing extra respiratory muscle and function developing trainings, these parameters influencing performance can be developed in female judo athletes. In addition, our study has the characteristic of a reference in terms of respiratory functions and especially respiratory muscle strength in the branch of judo
